elephant challenge update

I've been rocking out the elephants!  I don't think I've ever met a challenge so head on before, with this much motivation and enthusiasm.  I wake up ready to paint, and as soon as the heater gets the studio warm-ish and the body is willing to move from a hard nights sleep, I skip off to paint the days little dude!

this was yesterdays guy;

he's so proud and sure of himself,
trying to look intimidating.
"Funny Ears"

he is made from washi tape, oil pastels, charcoal, and acrylics.  I scribbled and played with the mediums before getting down to work with the little guy.  I knew I wanted this to be a fun one, so I played first.  after I worked the baby, I painted white over all the scribbles in short strokes, mixing the colored pastels in with the white for a fun, loose painting.

and todays work came out pretty well, better than I had imagined it would,

"Sarah Remembers"

she is made with book text, charcoal, and acrylics.  I found the text and felt it would go nicely with this painting, and i used the wording to help title her.

I started a second one today, but it's going to wait to be finished until tomorrow.

you can find all my elephants in my shop by clicking on the collections button, or if you want to wait til the herd is complete and buy an original 3"x3" mini elephant painting from me, they will be $15 each (including the easel) plus shipping and tax if in Massachusetts.

until later,
Jenny
