three new in the shop!

hi there!  my sweet man was able to work with me this weekend to get my newest paintings in the shop.  i'm also proud to say that since getting a february 2018 date for my library showing four months ago i've gotten eight new paintings completed!  thats pretty good progress for me.  i know that once the show is under wraps, i will be free to work on other mediums, not just canvas, so that will taper down.  of course i'll still be making works on paper still available in the shop (if they are shop worthy), but the pressure i give myself to have show quality work will be less.

so, here they are!

the seeker;

and cards

tail of the peacock;

sweet curtains

a funky backpack

and much more!

and
queen of her own healing;

and totes

as usual, you can find more items available for each painting at my heavenspirit creations store.  i noticed that we forgot to add "queen of her own healing" as a tapestry, so we will fix that this evening.

just an update

i'm currently in my yearly july depression, and have not been too active in the studio.  i have many ideas brewing in the brain for possible upcoming paintings, and have sketched some out.  probably should do more sketching of ideas before they leave me, but you know how "should"s are perceived.  when in a depression i must do what i am guided to do for self care.  lately i've just been taking to unsplash.com to find copyright free photos of situations that evoke a heart response in me, and thats good enough.

one of my ideas was of me as a child/teen with the barn in the background.  i have no photo like this but can meld several photos together to achieve the look i want.

sketch;

and today i will finish up a tiny bit on my "seeker" painting and call it done;

i have a plan for july and that is to step into the studio each day, even just to clean.  to walk the dog each day to get her more social and to help me with my own anxieties.  to drink my water and be conscious of my food.  hopefully this will keep me baby-stepping my way thru the depression and get me on even footing.

my superman also had an idea that will help the home while helping me and get me dreaming again.  he needs to get to a hidden and broken window in our cellar in order to replace it before the cold months come again.  since he has to basically tear down the room in order to get to the window he thought he should give me more space for my studio and just demo and rebuild that room for my use as well!

goodbye non-essential clutter!

first he is building my canvas storage area

this room is right off my studio, with the stairway in between the two rooms, so will be a second room for me, not an addition to my room.  my brain is working on it and i think i have a plan.  my current studio space will be for my painting.  just that.  my paints, easels and work table will stay in this space.  i have a third easel i will be able to use.

thru the little door will be my new space

the second room will be more passive.  i will put my rocking chair and light there, my journals and candles, my daddys old childhood desk, and all my beading supplies can be stored in more built-in shelving.  it also has a closet!

doesn't look like much now, but i have plans for days!
the window is behind that huge workbench!

where my beads and desk will go,
and the closet area

here is the window that started this project.
thank you, mr. window!

see the outside photo, above?  i have plans for this space as well that may or may not pan out.  what i envision is that window being a door going out of my sweet sitting area off my studio.  and out this door would be a brick patio.  i can see miss lucy in my sitting room, relaxing near me, then we open the door and into another beautiful area.  we have a little bit of fencing material we could use to give her a safe place to run...  oh do i have ideas!  the whole project will take time, and it will take money, and i'm not sure my door idea will work because there may be a cellar post in the way, but i am excited to have a project that will give me more room for my art!

this project also means i can finally go thru my craft room upstairs and figure out what to do with it all.  i had been waiting to do that because i just don't have the room for it all to be organized.  we will be able to have a guest room, finally!  all this, thanks to my sweet man and his thoughtful nature.

my blog is 2 today!

another year down, and it doesn't seem real that i started the blog 2 years ago.  my society6 shop was a year old on may 30th and i've sold 34 items since then, thanks to my amazingly supportive friends and family!

when i feel like giving up, you guys turn me around and remind me that it's all part of the journey.  the ebb and flow of life, the times of floating on air, when painting seems so easy, and when it all goes muddy and i can't seem to paint anything the way i see it in my head.  the days when i can't get off the couch and feel guilty and 'wrong' and not a 'real artist' if i'm not painting all day every day.

you guys help me pull myself out.  every. single. time.  thank you from the bottom of my heart.

so, whats been happening?  lots!

our daughter got married, and i had to dress in something other than pjs or paint clothes;

and... i got my hair done in crazy colors
and feel so much happier!

i finished my yellow vase painting;

named "love, everlasting"

this painting is about love and loss.  when you lose someone you truly love, thru death or a break up, you never forget them, they are in your heart for eternity.  the love is still there, just in another form.  thats why it hurts so much to lose a loved one.  it's like the love has no place to go, so it stagnates and festers.  yes, this painting is different than my others in that it's not very uplifting.  it takes you to a sad place before showing you that love never dies.  this one had to come out, though.

a title didn't appear to me so i had to do some thinking to come up with one.  in order to do this i googled the meanings of red roses (immortal love, sacrifice, health, memorial, passion), the color yellow for the vase (friendship), the number 3 (the ascended masters are near, responded to prayers and want to help...  also a number that represents my three sons).  the freemasons have three roses as a symbol of a guiding principle.  each rose indicates abiding 1. love, 2. life, 3. light.  the rose is also a symbol of being a carrier of secrets.  in tarot the rose represents balance, promise of new beginnings and hope, with the contrast of thorns that represent loss, defense and thoughtlessness.  the major arcana of magician, death and fool cards each have a rose, they all hold strong meanings of balance.  with all these thoughts on paper i came up with several titles that could fit, but "love, everlasting" was the winner.

and, the beginning of a series for me;

 the seeker

when they start becoming 3 d
when you walk around the room...
good feeling!

the figure needs more tending, but i love the direction she is going.  i want the background to have an unfinished feeling to it.  she is searching her own truth, her path is not known, it's all very fluid.

this series of paintings will be of my personal archetypes.  the ones who have come into my life, for a lifetime or a season.  each painting will be a stand alone piece, but together they will be an important piece of work in my life.  who knows how long it will take me to get thru them, and i'm sure others will pop up in my life.  i am concentrating on the lightworker archetypes and not the shadow ones, out of personal preference right now.  i wish to bring more light into my life and the lives of others, so i may choose to steer clear of the shadow archetypes (addict, critic, blahblahblah).  i've been enjoying finding appropriate reference photos on the copyright free sites to stick together for a painting that speaks to me as the archetype.

and, thats what i've been up to since last i've written.

again, i wish to thank my supportive circle of souls who keep the positive narrative running thru my head.  when my inner critic wishes me to jump ship, when i want to throw in the towel, i now ask myself, what would peggy say?  what would lisa or kathy say?  or char?  would nancy want me to give up?  and, my mark?  what would HE say?  mark has done nothing but support my passions in life, and he knows this one is my biggest outlet.  mark would be pretty concerned if i gave it up.  so, while painting may be frustrating sometimes, it's the best thing for my mental health, and keeping your loving words handy in my head keeps that fact registered as truth.  i love you all so much.
